Select the Start menu in the lower left of your screen

Click on Control Panel

Your control panel will look like one of the two following screen shots.
Select the option Security Center from this screen.

From the Security Center select the option Windows Firewall

The Windows Firewall configuration window will open up.
Select the option Off.

Click OK to save your settings.

The windows firewall should now be disabled
